This month I received my very first PetBox! I got the "dog" box. PetBox is a great monthly subscription service that delivers premium products right to your home each month. Items are from boutique suppliers, meaning that much of what you receive cannot be bought at a large pet store chain.

My dad likes to take our dogs for walks, so I was glad to see a couple great items that will come in handy for him. There is an Alcott Essential Adventure Bowl (a fold out travel bowl for water) and Clean Paws Doodie Bags (lemon scented and made with recycled plastic!). Both items are fully functional and very convenient.

Unscented Dry Shampoo by fordirtydogs - 100% natural!! First ingredient is Colloidal Oatmeal, and so it smells like oatmeal! I love that - and it is essential oil free, so you don't have to worry about it irritating your dog's skin

Pizza Party flavored treats by Be Pawsitive. These treats smell great!! Exactly like pizza, one of my favorite foods! These treats are organic, made in the USA, AND they have a "buy one, give one" policy - when you buy a bag of these treats, a bag is donated to a shelter. Isn't that wonderful?? And most of my dogs loved them!

Even my cats had fun with this PetBox for dogs - above you can see Mykah checking out the Piggy Twizzies dog chew and a Pawtastic Fleece Pet Toy.

I must tell you about these great finds from Whiscraft on Etsy! Whiscraft rocks - it is now my new favorite shop on Etsy (after my own of course, haha). Their products are high quality and they have great customer service! Josie, the owner is the nicest and most down to earth person you will ever meet. Because they are shipped from Indonesia and I live in the USA, they take about a month or more to arrive, but this is understandable and these items are totally worth the wait!! And the best part is that all proceeds go to The Whiskers' Syndicate - the only cat sanctuary in Bandung, Indonesia. When you purchase from Whiscraft, you not only get some great items, but you also make a difference in these kitties' lives!

Check out these ADORABLE cat toys from Whiscraft. According to Josie, "All of our items are made entirely from scrap fabric from unsold or excess product from textile mills or unused portions from garment manufacturers." This is great - and better for the environment! All of these items are hand sewn and contain organic catnip. My personal favorite is the carrot toy, but my cats LOVE all of them!! As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, most cat toys I purchase are loved by my cats for a week or less and then discarded in a corner, but I have had the turkeys for over a month now and they are still being played with daily!

PureBites Pet Treat Review

PureBites was kind enough to send me both free cat AND dog treats to review on my page - and I must say, they were a hit! I received Freeze Dried Shrimp Cat Treats, Freeze Dried Chicken Breast Cat Treats, Freeze Dried Beef Liver Dog Treats, and Freeze Dried Bison Liver Treats.

PureBites treats are AWESOME - they are a healthy snack for your pet, high in protein and low in calories! The cat treats only have 1 calorie each, and the dog treats have under 10 calories each. PLUS they all have just 1 ingredient (which even I can pronounce!). The shrimp is just that, shrimp, the bison liver is just bison liver, and so on! These treats are fantastic.

Not only are they good for your pet, but if your pets are anything like mine, they will love them! I have 5 cats, and all of them LOVED the chicken breast treat. The treats are great because they are not as hard as actual dry cat food - they are more crunchy like potato chips, pork rinds etc. Only 1 of my cats did not care for the shrimp treats, but he has always been a picky eater. In the video, you can see that Artemis absolutely adored them! Shrimp is his favorite food - he loves it when I bring home Chinese, so these are definitely his favorite treat.

Now the beef liver dog treats were also a huge hit here - ALL of my dogs gobbled them right up! These are medium sized treats (some about the size of a quarter or larger), but if you have a small dog they are also great because they break apart into smaller pieces easily. Only about half of my dogs would eat the bison liver treats - but the ones that did eat them absolutely loved them! So if you know your dog is partial to bison meat, then this treat may be a good buy for you. Even my cats loved the liver dog treats (bison and beef, but again, more so the beef). Perhaps my pets just aren't fancy enough to fully appreciate bison 

Overall, I give these pet treats 4.5 stars out of 5 (losing points only because the bison flavor may not be for everyone). Watch this video to see why my pets give PureBites pet treats 2 paws up:

I was given this wonderful blanket to review by Doggie Couture Shop. Doggie Couture Shop is devoted to offering excellent customer service and a wide variety in dog fashion and accessories - they even offer a small selection of cat products for the cat lovers out there. I was definitely impressed by the fast and polite customer service I received when approaching them via email. The shipping was super fast too!

I chose to review "Mookie the Monkey My Pet Dog Blankie" because my cats LOVE soft blankets. They love to snuggle under them and knead them. When I opened my package, I was not disappointed! This blanket is absolutely adorable and so soft. It doubles as an adorable monkey plush! That is what makes this blankie perfect for pets AND children. The blanket measures approximately 25 inches by 40 inches - so it is just the right size for my kitties, a small dog, or a toddler. I thought I would have trouble rolling it back up into a monkey, but I was wrong - it is very fast and easy! I give this product 5 out of 5 stars - and my cats give it two paws up!!

NekoFont - Calling All Cat Lovers!!

Oh my goodness!! This is SO FUN. If you haven't heard of "NekoFont" and you love cats, then you are missing out! NekoFont is made using just two kitties - Maizo and Mondo. The only characters they were unable to create with just these two cats are "#" and "B." Cuteness overload.

What Does the Fox Say?

This little fox was so fun to make! For this project I used a more coarse wool for the body (I prefer coarser fibers - from my experiences, they seem to felt faster) and for the tail and sideburns I used a more fine wool. The face was finished with a plastic nose and a pair of glass eyes. I love using glass eyes - they make my miniatures come alive!

We have an enormous maple tree in the backyard and that is where I chose to pose this little guy for a photo shoot. Before I send this mini out, it will be attached to a ribbon. My miniatures look great sitting in a display case, but they also are wonderful hanging from your rear view mirror or even from your Christmas tree! And you know, Christmas in July is coming up here soon ;)
