 Author John D. Mimms John D. Mimms is a business owner, paranormal researcher, and author. John served as the Technical Director for the Arkansas Paranormal and Anomalous Studies Team (ARPAST). During his four-year tenure with the organization, he helped supervise over 100 investigations and wrote more than sixteen technical articles. One of John's articles, titled "A Christmas Carol Debunked," was read live on Parazona Radio by Paul Bradford of Ghost Hunters International fame. John also wrote the ARPAST technical/training manual which is a comprehensive guide on equipment usage, investigation protocol, and scientific theory for paranormal research. Their products are high quality and they have great customer service! Josie, the owner is the nicest and most down to earth person you will ever meet. Because they are shipped from Indonesia and I live in the USA, they take about a month or more to arrive, but this is understandable and these items are totally worth the wait!! And the best part is that all proceeds go to The Whiskers' Syndicate - the only cat sanctuary in Bandung, Indonesia. When you purchase from Whiscraft, you not only get some great items, but you also make a difference in these kitties' lives!

Check out these ADORABLE cat toys from Whiscraft. According to Josie, "All of our items are made entirely from scrap fabric from unsold or excess product from textile mills or unused portions from garment manufacturers." This is great - and better for the environment! All of these items are hand sewn and contain organic catnip. My personal favorite is the carrot toy, but my cats LOVE all of them!! As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, most cat toys I purchase are loved by my cats for a week or less and then discarded in a corner, but I have had the turkeys for over a month now and they are still being played with daily!

From the Field: Earth-Friendly Pet Products Review

Hmm...what can I say about From the Field's products?? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM. They make my cats happy, and that is good enough for me!

If you don't know what Silver Vine is and you have a cat, then you need to know what it is! This product rocks!! It has the same effect on cats as catnip does, but it is more intense! That is why it is so great for cats that do not respond to catnip. AND it is all natural.

I received one Bella's Blissful Hemp Pouch. This is filled with Silver Vine and natural catnip, as well as buckwheat hulls for a crinkly effect. I was also sent individual baggies of the Ultimate Blend (a Silver Vine and catnip mix) - which I dispensed into some old socks that had lost their mates. All five of my cats went crazy over these toys!! Even Kozmo loved them - he does not usually care for catnip toys (they must not be strong enough for him). These products are great - here one month later my cats are still playing with them! They lose interest in plain catnip toys in a week or less after I purchase them.

The three most important things when choosing a car seat are:

·   One that fits your child
·   One that fits your car
·   One that you will use correctly every time

You can accomplish this by:

·   Have the car you will be using the seat in with you and try it out at the store.
·   If possible have your child with you at the time of purchase
·   Follow information in both the car seat manual and vehicle manual for installation
·   Attend a car seat check for assistance in proper installation and use from a certified car seat technician

New rules for car seats using LATCH require understanding of your car seat’s weight and child’s weight:

·   Car seats (after 2/27/14) are required to carry a label guiding on maximum weight limits for LATCH
·   The combined weight should not exceed 65 lbs
·   Look in the manual and label on the car seat to identify the weight of the seat
·   Look for a weight on the maximum weight for the child
·   Know your child’s weight

·   Combined weight of the seat and your child exceeds 65lbs? Install the car seat using the vehicle’s belt
